Reservations
Manage bookings and optimize your seating
Updated Jan 11, 2026
TableYeah's reservation system helps you manage bookings, optimize table turnover, and provide a great guest experience.
Key Features
- Online booking: Guests book directly through your public reservation page
- Table management: Assign single or multiple tables to reservations
- Waitlist: Handle walk-ins when you're fully booked
- Guest profiles: Track preferences, dietary restrictions, and visit history
- Notifications: Automated email confirmations and optional SMS reminders
How Availability Works
When a guest selects a date and party size, TableYeah checks several things to determine which time slots are available:
- Operating hours — Is the restaurant open? (checks special hours first, then regular weekly hours)
- Blocked dates — Is the date marked as closed?
- Table capacity — Are there tables that fit the party size?
- Existing reservations — Is a suitable table free at that time?
- Turn times — Will the party finish before closing?
Last Seating Times
The latest bookable slot depends on party size. Larger parties need more time, so their last available slot is earlier:
| Party Size | Turn Time | Last Seating (10 PM close) |
|---|---|---|
| 2 guests | 90 min | 8:30 PM |
| 4 guests | 2 hours | 8:00 PM |
| 6 guests | 2.5 hours | 7:30 PM |
You can customize turn times in Settings → Reservations, or set explicit last seating times in Settings → Hours.
Reservation Statuses
The Standard Flow
Most reservations follow this path:
- Booked — Guest makes a reservation online
- Confirmed — Staff confirms the booking
- Seated — Guest arrives and is seated
- Completed — Service is finished
Info
Reservations created by staff skip straight to Confirmed. Online bookings start as Booked and require confirmation.
All Statuses
| Status | Description | What happens next? |
|---|---|---|
| Pending Payment | Awaiting payment for ticketed events | Becomes Booked after payment |
| Booked | Awaiting staff confirmation | Confirm, cancel, or mark no-show |
| Confirmed | Ready for the guest's arrival | Seat the guest when they arrive |
| Seated | Guest is currently dining | Mark complete when finished |
| Completed | Service finished | Feedback survey sent (if enabled) |
| Cancelled | Booking was cancelled | Final state |
| No-Show | Guest didn't arrive | Final state |
