Settings Overview
Access settings from the Settings link in the admin sidebar. Settings are organized into tabs:
General
Edit your restaurant's basic information:
- Restaurant name and contact email
- Phone number
- Street address, city, state, ZIP code
- Website URL
- Timezone
Team
Manage your staff:
- Invite and manage staff members
- Assign roles (Owner, Admin, Manager, Staff)
- View pending invitations
Servers
Track server assignments during service:
- Add servers with names and colors
- Assign servers to tables
Hours
Configure when your restaurant is open and when reservations are available.
Weekly Schedule:
- Set open and close times for each day
- Configure slot duration (how often time slots appear—15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes)
- Optionally set a custom reservation start time (when bookings begin, if different from opening)
- Optionally set a custom last seating time (or let the system calculate it from turn times)
How Last Seating Works: If you don't set an explicit last seating time, TableYeah calculates it automatically:
Last Seating = Close Time − Turn Time for Party Size
Example: If you close at 10 PM and a party of 4 needs 2 hours, their last available slot is 8 PM. Smaller parties with shorter turn times may book later.
Special Service Hours
Create one-off schedules for specific dates—holiday hours, special brunch service, limited capacity days, or complete closures. Special hours completely replace the regular schedule for that date.
Go to Settings → Hours and scroll to Special Service Hours
Click Add Special Hours
Choose the type:
- Special Hours: Custom operating hours for that date
- Closed: Mark the date as unavailable for reservations
Fill in the details:
- Name: What guests will see (e.g., "Sunday Brunch", "Holiday Hours")
- Date: The specific date
- Open/Close times: Service window for that day
- Slot duration: Time between reservation slots
- Description: Optional message shown on the booking page
Configure visibility:
- Show to guests: Display in the booking flow
- Accept reservations: Enable or disable online booking
Custom Reservation Times: By default, TableYeah auto-calculates the last seating time based on party size and turn times. Enable Custom Reservation Times to manually set exact reservation start and end times.
Tip
Use Special Service Hours instead of blocked dates when you're open with different hours. Blocked dates completely prevent bookings, while special hours let you control the available window.
Managing Special Hours:
- Eye icon: Toggle visibility (hide from guests while keeping the schedule)
- Power icon: Toggle reservations on/off
- Delete: Remove the special hours entry
Upcoming and past special hours are shown in separate sections for easy management.
Branding
Customize the guest-facing experience:
- Logo (square) — admin UI and emails
- Wordmark (wide) — headers
- Cover/hero image — booking page and shop
- Favicon and social share image
- Auto-generated brand colors
Zones
Organize your seating areas into zones (Main Dining, Patio, Bar, etc.) with independent booking rules.
Basic Zone Settings:
- Name and emoji: How the zone appears to staff and guests
- Color: Visual identification on the floor plan
- Public bookable: Whether guests can request this zone when booking
- Active: Enable or disable the zone
Zone Preference Groups
Group zones together so guests can choose between options like "Indoor" or "Outdoor" without selecting specific zones:
Create groups in the Preference Groups section
Assign zones to groups (a zone can belong to multiple groups)
When booking, guests see groups as options: "Indoor", "Outdoor", "Any"
Zone Booking Rules
Each zone can have its own booking rules that override global defaults:
Party Size Limits:
- Minimum: Smallest party allowed (default: 1)
- Maximum: Largest party allowed (overrides global max)
Turn Times by Party Size: Override the global turn times for this zone. Useful when different areas have different service styles.
| Party Size | Description |
|---|---|
| 1–2 guests | Couples and solo diners |
| 3–4 guests | Small groups |
| 5–6 guests | Medium groups |
| 7+ guests | Large parties |
Multi-Table Settings:
- Allow multi-table: Can tables in this zone be combined for larger parties?
- Allow cross-zone: Can tables from this zone combine with tables in other zones?
Info
If you don't set zone-specific rules, the global settings from the Reservations tab apply.
Pacing Limits
Control how many guests can be seated at the same time to manage kitchen and service capacity:
Max Covers Per Slot: Maximum total guests that can start dining in a single time slot. Prevents overwhelming the kitchen during peak times.
Max Parties Per Slot: Maximum number of reservations that can be seated in a single time slot. Even if cover limits allow more guests, this limits the number of separate parties.
Example: A zone with max 20 covers and max 4 parties per slot could seat:
- Four 5-person parties (20 covers), or
- Four 2-person parties (8 covers), but not
- Five 4-person parties (even though 20 covers, exceeds party limit)
Day and Time Overrides: Configure different pacing rules for specific days or time windows. For example:
- Weekday lunch: 12 covers/slot, 3 parties/slot
- Weekend dinner: 20 covers/slot, 5 parties/slot
Tip
Start with conservative pacing limits and increase them as your team becomes more comfortable. It's easier to add capacity than to handle an overwhelmed kitchen.
Tables
Manage your seating inventory:
- Add and manage tables
- Set min/max capacity per table
- Assign tables to zones
- Configure table shapes for floor plan
Reservations
Fine-tune how online bookings work.
Turn Times: How long each table is occupied based on party size. This affects both table availability and automatic last seating calculations.
| Party Size | Default Turn Time |
|---|---|
| 1–2 guests | 90 minutes |
| 3–4 guests | 2 hours |
| 5–6 guests | 2.5 hours |
| 7+ guests | 3 hours |
Adjust these based on your service style—fine dining typically needs longer times than casual spots.
Online Booking Rules:
- Max party size — Larger parties must contact you directly (default: 6)
- Multi-table reservations — Allow online guests to book parties spanning multiple tables
Blocked Dates: Mark specific dates when you're closed (holidays, private events, renovations). Blocked dates show zero availability—guests cannot book for those days.
Tip
Use Special Service Hours instead of blocked dates if you're open but with different hours. Use blocked dates only when completely closed.
