Gift Cards
Issue and manage digital gift cards

Offer digital gift cards that guests can purchase online or that you can issue directly.

Gift card management is currently available in the web admin dashboard only. Mobile app support is planned for a future release.
How Gift Cards Work
- Purchase: Guest buys a gift card online or you issue one
- Delivery: Gift card is delivered via email
- Redemption: Guest presents the code when paying
- Balance tracking: Remaining balance is tracked automatically
Issuing Gift Cards
From the Admin Dashboard
Go to Gift Cards in the admin sidebar
Click New Gift Card
Enter the details:
- Amount
- Recipient name and email
- Personal message (optional)
- Sender name
Choose delivery:
- Send immediately
- Schedule for later
- Print for in-person gift
Click Issue Gift Card
Tip
You can issue complimentary gift cards as a service recovery tool. Just note it in the internal notes.
Guest Self-Purchase
Enable online gift card sales:
- Go to Commerce → Products
- Create a Gift Card product and mark it as Available in Store
- Gift cards appear at
your-restaurant.app.tableyeah.com/shop
Redeeming Gift Cards
When a guest wants to use their gift card:
- Ask for their gift card code
- Go to the reservation or create a new payment
- Enter the gift card code
- The balance is automatically applied
Partial Redemption
Gift cards can be used across multiple visits:
- Use $50 of a $100 card
- $50 balance remains for next visit
- Balance is shown on the gift card detail page
Managing Gift Cards
Checking Balance
- Go to Gift Cards
- Search by code, recipient name, or purchaser
- View current balance and transaction history
Adjusting Balance
If needed, you can manually adjust a gift card balance:
- Open the gift card
- Click Adjust Balance
- Enter the new amount and reason
- Changes are logged in the history
Warning
Balance adjustments are logged for accountability. Use them sparingly and document the reason.
Gift Card Settings
Configure gift card options when creating a Gift Card product in Commerce → Products:
- Minimum/Maximum amounts: Set value range limits for customer purchases
- Store availability: Control whether customers can purchase gift cards online
Multi-Location
For restaurant groups, choose how gift cards work:
- Organization-wide: Redeemable at any location
- Per-location: Only valid at the issuing location
